When does the monthly fee start?
Once your app is live on the App Store. It doesn’t start at payment, during TestFlight or while Apple is reviewing.
Every month is the rate above unless your app has more active paying subscribers than it includes. From your first renewal I check the subscriber report, using the read access you give me during setup. If the count is above the included number, I email you the count and the total before the charge, and that email is what I bill. If you haven’t had that email, you’re charged the rate above.
What the setup covers
- Up to two programs from what you already have, for example a starter and an advanced version: each up to 12 weeks, with up to 100 unique exercises between them, in a form I can work from. A larger library is agreed before I start.
- Your name, colour, icon and store listing, and membership on your Apple account, including a paid tier you control.
- Listing assets, device testing, a TestFlight round with you, and help submitting to Apple.
- One round of corrections, and anything that doesn’t match what we agreed is fixed at no charge.
- A reply within two business days (Australian time) of payment, Monday to Friday, to agree the details.
Your subscribers pay you, after Apple's commission and taxes. Free members cost you nothing. The app is built on my platform, which I license to you, so you receive the finished app rather than the source code.
Refunds
Full refund of the setup fee any time before I start building, and if I cannot build the app for you. After I have started, half the setup fee is refundable until I deliver your first test build. For a change of mind, the setup fee isn’t refundable after I deliver your first test build. If I can’t build your app, the setup fee comes back in full, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply.

What you need (Apple account)
An Apple Developer account, paid directly to Apple.
You do not need it before you pay. I help you set it up afterwards. Anything you commission elsewhere, such as photos, is a separate cost.
Please wait for my first email before paying Apple; I’ll tell you which account type to create. A business (Organization) account is the standard route. Individual accounts are still being tested; if yours can't be used, your setup fee comes back in full.
Other costs
Apple's developer membership is paid directly to Apple each year.
Apple keeps its commission on your members' subscriptions.
Your members' subscriptions run through RevenueCat, in your own account. RevenueCat is free for smaller apps. Once your monthly tracked subscription revenue passes its free threshold, RevenueCat charges 1% of all of it. RevenueCat's pricing has the current threshold.
What a year costs
Apple's membership and RevenueCat are separate. There's no annual commitment: cancel at the end of any paid month.
Free and Premium members
You choose which of your plans are free and which are for Premium members, your paying subscribers.
Free members get:

Premium members get everything above, plus:
- Every plan
- Building their own plans
- AI meal estimates
- AI workout logging
- AI insight reports
- Barcode scanning
- Full analytics
- Weekly training planner
- Unlimited history
AI allowance
Your Premium members can photograph a meal for an estimate, and read AI insight reports from what they logged. Estimates can be off, and they’re not medical advice.
If your members’ use runs well above normal, I’ll contact you so we can agree what to do. I won’t switch AI off for heavy use without talking to you first.
Currency and tax
Prices are in US dollars. Your bank converts from US dollars and may add its own fee; that does not change the price. OwnBrand Fitness is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged. Any tax due in your own country is yours to arrange, as with any overseas service.
Cancelling
Cancel anytime. Monthly service ends at the end of your paid billing period.
Cancelling does not cancel what your members have already paid you through Apple.
